Each team needs to nominate a coach.  Some teams may have assistance from one of the clubs senior players but ideally they are there to teach and mentor a parent or family member of a junior player.

Coaches play an important role in the sporting life, but also the everyday life, of the participants they coach. Coaches influence the development of sport-specific skills and sporting performance, and also the participant’s development as a person and their approach to other aspects of their life. While at times it can be challenging, coaching is also a very satisfying role.

You do not have to be a "baseball expert". Coaching is an area where these is a wealth of knowledge from people within the club, clinics by the association and resources from the state/national body.

The team coach MUST complete the ASC General Coaching Principles, Working with Children Clearance and L1 or higher Coaching Accreditation.

The Level 2 Coaching Manual is full of great drills and training ideas that can be adapted to all age groups. Use this as a guide for weekly coaching sessions
